Topic: People who can successfully create a server on First Strike 1.5

I wanted to know if there were people here who were successful in creating a First Strike 1.5 server. This includes LAN servers and people who create internet servers with the First Strike Server files or whatever files they have.

Please respond and explain your method clearly and as detailed as possible so everyone who couldn't create a server could enjoy their own server to share with others. Thanks smile

Marklar Leader: No, not at all. Hey, Marklar!
Marklar: Yes, Marklar?                                                                                        Marklar Leader: You see?

Don't we already have threads like this? I'll post mine up later on, its a bit in depth.

I know, but this one is slightly different. This is an attempt to reach out to the community and find a solution to the server creation incompatibility issue once and for all.

I just can't wait to create a server for First Strike, my summer won't last forever and I can't wait to create a working server for my favorite mod/game sad

Will wait desperately for a response

Get a working BF2142 server, manually upload all FS server files to the appropriate folders, set the server to run off of FS.  Profit.

Awww that sounded like a great idea Gwy, but it didn't work sad I tried all the possible manual ways of installing it. Every time, the server appears red in my server list. with or without updating... nice try though, when am I ever going to create a server sad

Get a server working with Regular BF 1.51, then contact me on Steam or XFire (usernames: Gwynzer).  I'll see what I can do to get FS working.

Re: People who can successfully create a server on First Strike 1.5

Install BF2142 and FirstStrike on your computer. Make sure FirstStrike is updated (to version 1015 at time of writing), and that you can join a current running server with it.

Copy the firststrike folder from program files/electronic arts/BF2142/mods
to your desktop.

Open the new desktop folder (still called FirstStrike).

Delete the zip files common_client, meu_client, shaders_client, sound_client.

Still in the folder, open up the file levels. Go through each folder and delete the zip files titled client.

navigate back to the top level of the FirstStrike folder, then open up the folder objects. Delete zip files titled common_client, effects_client, kits_client, roads_client, soldiers_client, staticobjects_client, vegitation_client, vehicles_client, water-client, weapons_client.

Close all folders down. The folder is now almost a server version of FirstStrike. The rest of this tut is now assuming you have a successfully running BF2142 server that is up to date (patch 1.51 actual release, not beta or anything!) and that you can join, and that it is running some server managment program such as 2142cc.

Now, access your server, navigate to the BF2142 folder section, and open the folder 'mods' then BF2142. Navigate to and open the folder 'settings', hopefully you will have a file in there called modmanager.con. Copy this file to your computer desktop. Close down settings, and navigate back to your server directory, BattleField2142/mods folder.

Move your copied modmanager.con file from your desktop to desktop/FirstStrike/settings (ie the same place you found it in your servers BF2142 folder!).

Now, upload this entire FirstStrike folder to your server in to Battlefield 2142/mods.

Shut down your game server, then use your server management program of choice to correctly set it up to run FS, start up and all should be well.

This is how I run and manage my server (Rebel Defiance and also the teams testing server), so I know it works. If you are still having issues then somewhere you have a file that is not up to date, possibly wrong BF2142 1.51 server files, or not updating FS before uploading.
