Main development remains at Stockholm. DICE LA has a supporting role.
It's surely going to be with the Frostbite Engine which means multiplayer focused, so forget about singleplayer support for anything but a small campaign like in Battlefield 3. However, I expect gameplay to be more like Battlefield and First Strike, which will be a big improvement over previous Battlefront games and is potentially very exciting.
Now that EA is licensed for Star Wars game development, does that open possibilities for First Strike? What about approaching DICE about releasing the mod on Origin and possibly as a stand alone game (Basically a free verison of the BF2142 game engine that only plays the First Strike mod)?
The free game would open up the game to many players that were not interested in BF2142. Working with DICE could generate publicity for the upcomming Battlefront title while giving the First Strike team members publicity and at least free server hosting. This could even generate enough interest in the mod from other modders to build up the mod team again.
