This mod looks real nice from the screenies.. cant wait...

Heres what I would do if I had any talent big_smile

If a squad does well the squad leader should get to pick a jedi/sith class. While that squad is still doing well the leader gets to keep spawning as this class.

I dont think any of these special classes should be too strong. I think at least 1/2 their ability should be to enhance squad members in some way.  they would have an area of effect buff for squad members. ie. Jedi would add deffence buffs and sith would add attack buffs.

Jedi/sith weapon unlocks would be different jedi/sith skill sets, different saber styles, or force powers

Jedi/Sith Stamina would be Force Power instead. Jedi/Sith would have no normal sprint. They would only "walk" at increased speed in any direction while useing force. ie holding down the sprint button.  Force would also be used to jump higher/farther.  you could make it look like they were running and not walking though.. 

attacking for jedi/sith while running and jumping should be allowed since they really only have short range weapons and would have to get close to do any damage.

Lightsaber alt fire would be a saber throw big_smile

Add a couple unique special kits laying around maps for named sw characters.  i.e. put a kit you can pick up in a tavern on tatooine that if an imp picks it up you look like boba fet or if your a rebel you look like han solo.

Hi there, WELCOME to the forums. I really like your ideas. And it holds true, because if I remember the movies correctly (Episode I - Episode III), the Jedi/Sith were squad leaders, commanding a few groups of Clone Troopers.

This is one of the biggest mistakes that were made in SWBF2 - focus too much on unimportant and unneeded "side-games" like playing as a hero, Jedi, Sith, etc. When the game is supposed to focus as playing as soldiers. Why switch rolls? Hey, how about playing as a Stormtrooper or a Rebel in the Jedi Knight series? Makes sense, no?

Just imagine the problems presented by playing as such a unique character as Boba Fett, Han Solo, etc. If you die, guess what, the entire continuity is broken. How can you have Vader and Luke getting killed over and over in the same battle?

Hi everyone.  Yea I understand about making side games that dont add much.  swbf2 I think is actually quite fun and setup well. I wasn't sure after hearing alot of bad reviews but I had an itch and had to buy it.  I'm glad I did.  The only thing missing from swbf2 is a squad/comander system like bf2.

One thing is the heros in swbf2 might be a little too hard to kill. if they were put in this mod i would think they should be pretty easy to kill but have some cool special abilitys that help out the squad.  maybe just good at dodging and not so much at attacking.  well one hit kills with the saber isnt exactly weak you would just have to be sneaky. big_smile

Well I would submit that the whole point of video games is to put yourself in a role you wouldnt normaly be in.  Whats starwars without a couple jedi running around??  I agree that its based on soldiers and squad combat but Jedi and sith are warriors and were leaders in the war.  I dont think its a question if it will be done well or not.  If they do it im sure it will be done well or they will just leave it out.  also the squad leader classes dont have to be jedi they could be some special commando.  Ever see the animated clone wars?  Akimbo pistols comes to mind big_smile

Figured I'd edit and just put all my ideas in one place.

Engineers having one scout droid would be cool.  When he uses it he just stands there looking at the vid screen on his arm, leaving themselves defenceless.  then the scout droid spawns above the engineer and the engy gets a 1st person view and can fly it around.
when the engy presses the button to enter/exit vehicle that he leaves the droid view. 
the scout droid should even have a small scanner on it like a uav but alot smaller.

I dont think droids would really be good to use otherwise maybe a terminal or somthing that you can control a repair unit. one that cant attack. maybe stun but thats about it.  Even in gc i thought it was kinda usless, if kinda funny seeing r2 zooming around trying to zap people.

Any battle type droids should really just be a chosen kit.  Clones vs. Droids if it ever gets that far.  Separate factions.  I thought it was a little weak that somone could just sit and fly the droid and get kills with very little threat to their own amount of deaths.
