That's not true. The Rebellion had several X-wing & Y-wing squadrons stationed at Echo base. We see the X-wings prepping for take off during the evacuation at the Battle of Hoth.

The fighter could function for a long enough period to exit the planets atmosphere into space I do believe.

Here's another thing on Hoth. The falcon didn't really fight AND is it not build for Hoth?? I was ok with the Falcon in G-C (HAHA found a way!!), but I think it should be kept out...

Tie Fighters wouldn't be able to function on Hoth, so it's completely incorrect. Even the Rebels, who had been located there for many months, had not yet adapted their technology to the world. The only tech that they ever adapted was the specially built snowspeeder, only so because it ran on repulsorlifts, as opposed to ion engines and such. Non-speeders could never work, even if properly adapted. This is the reason why Snowspeeders can't do rolls and flips. They'd slam right into the ground.

Re: Tie fighters and tie bombers.

The falcon was nice, but wasnt it under maitnance the whole time the battle was roaring on? Therefor it was unable to fly, or uncapable (maby thats what damaged it in the first place).
