i hate static objects. I want to be able to play battles how i want. Isnt that tha point of battlefield. Its what sets battlefield apart from other games like soccom or u know other fps. So for that reason it should not be static. but it should be patked in the hanger similar to to the movie

but in the movies it couldnt fly until it got shot at and it first had to defend itself. the falcon was in the last place the imps didnt get yet and so isnt near any potential spawn points

The falcon wouldn't become a spawn camping issue if it were only enterable by rebels.  This technique was used in BF:1942 to prevent enemies from stealing/camping destroyers, battleships, subs, and aircraft carriers.

If the Imperials captured Echo Base while some Rebels were still in the Falcon's turrets, how could you kill them if it was a static object?

Re: Tie fighters and tie bombers.

He means object spawner, just like a static MG. To kill it all you have to do is blow up the falcon......

Re: Tie fighters and tie bombers.

Not so much a STATIC object w/ turrets on it, more like a ship, but without engines.  In other words, you can enter it and operate it's weapons (at least the laser cannons), but you won't be able to fly it around.  This would actually be more like the movie because Han and Chewie weren't able to get the falcon's engines started until the last second (the very end of the battle).

I think Un-Co understands what I'm talking about.  If you played bf:1942, in the Coral Sea map, you could enter the aircraft carriers, and operate the AA guns, but you couldn't move the carriers.  In some sense they were static, but not really because they were enterable vehicles that could be destroyed, they just couldn't move.

Tie Fighters wouldn't be able to function on Hoth, so it's completely incorrect. Even the Rebels, who had been located there for many months, had not yet adapted their technology to the world. The only tech that they ever adapted was the specially built snowspeeder, only so because it ran on repulsorlifts, as opposed to ion engines and such. Non-speeders could never work, even if properly adapted. This is the reason why Snowspeeders can't do rolls and flips. They'd slam right into the ground.

TIEs could function on Hoth I think, cause it is much colder in space than in atmosphere and remember them saying they couldn't used snowspeeders, cause it was too cold, they only could use them when the weather was fine and when it was warmer smile
