Re: What I Hope For

I'm the other way around, completely.. BF42 was all about the vehicles and thats why I loved it.. pilot those gawdawfully huge ships and kerplow anyone dumb enough to be within range and visible. BF2 takes a bit of that away, turning the capitol ships into static bases. The armor provided is far too scarce for my tastes even in the heavy maps. Some infantry only maps are good, but on the other hand a crazy vehicle bonanza WOULD be fun. c'mon, admit it...

those people long ago and far away were far lazier than any of us could be. they had droids to do the scut work, Hover-tools to take the strain of everything else off. you think they're going to WALK everywhere? or avoid a vehicle if they can avoid it? we should code a REALLY short stamina bar..

with the shellshock effect if you run it out wink

Re: What I Hope For

I think that Forgotten Hope have an truly excellent balance with infantry, tanks and planes. I am almost always infantry and I found that much more giving then BF2 where you just cannon fodder until you find a tank or plane...

“If I have a thousand ideas and only one turns out to be good, I am satisfied.”

Re: What I Hope For

well i know once the mod is out i will map some custom maps that are infantry only
(and of course there will be official maps such as this acording to the mod team)

as to artilery.... i think its a great feature but the recharge should be at least 2x as long

If you are a lone assault soldier then you are more likely cannon fodder, but that's not the way the game was intended to be played. Infantry own any vehicle if they are in diverse squads and work together. One guy can distract a tank while the other plants c4. Planes are different, but just take cover and spot it so someone can come and help with AA.

I guess I'm like Harry that I love the vehicles, and I don't find that the maps are vehicle heavy at all. I personally love it when you're in the middle of a infantry fire fight when this machine rolls up and starts laying some heavy fire and you have to find a way to overcome the new obstacle. Infantry maps are cool but always feel bland if there aren't one or two vehicles, just to keep things interesting.
