Re: Sad to see it seems like theres a lack of interset in this mod...

Actualy no, that's Armed Assault. It would have been called Operation Flashpoint 2, but the company the studio broke off from still holds the rights to that title. Right now there is no ETA except for this year. BIS, the developer, can't find a publisher and if E3 doesn't go well, they have a plan to distribute it much like STEAM. It uses a modifed Operation Flashpoint engine with alot of dynamic features, such as wild life, etc. It's also a simulation, so the action may not be as fast as BF: 2.

i duno if i liked the screenies something about it made it look too open and low poly(other than the soldiers and vehicles) the buildings look pants imo... will be worth to see what the demo holds and 200 people battles sound interesting... but then flashpoints playability was rubbish... bf2 or americas army are the best i have ever experianced.

The E3 trailer was recorded by FRAPS, which was stated at Armed Assault Zone website, so that will explain the low quality of graphics and the bad frame rate, sicne FRAPS cuts it in half. Any part of the island is available to explore during any mission, hence the openness, and every building can be entred, but I don't know about how they constructed it.

even with fraps you get an idea about the detail etc.. and that would have been done on the best machine they had available i bet..

the buildings just look flat.. might be me bein an architect student. but i feel that the player models are too detailed for the environments.

Perhaps. There will be a single player and mutliplayer demo available before they launch the reatail version, so we can try it out.

Re: Sad to see it seems like theres a lack of interset in this mod...

it's only 75% complete the multi player features alone are worth looking into.  Players limited only by server, the connection to server and your own PC.  The netcode is that optimised.  They say 200 players at todays server speeds.  Though it may be a rumour,  each player potentially can command up to 11 ai units too.  Graphics are good but they won't be Doom 3.  The price you pay for having hundreds of opponets as opposed to 15.  And maps 400 square kilometers, that's 250 square miles of game area.  The graphics are comprable to BF2 if not better.  Remeber the screenies are not the end product.

Is there any date, for a first release, or even a Beta Release...

Give something for people to look forward to...
