Well actualy that was to promote teamwork. It was like this plus feature on the xwing, if you don't have someone to be your droid, your a normal fighter, but otherwise... oh boy oh boy smile
But basicly the reason was teamwork.

yeah it was teamwork, but u just could extend the life of ur fighter a bit, cause the R2 was too weak too fix it whole the time smile

But an idea of me: why not give more functions to the R2: repair, boosting speed, weapons, shield, stablize the fighter,....

But if a player could control this things as a R2-unit, it would be less boring I guess smile

But in space maps, not everyone can get to vital places if there are no fighters left, so they need to take a ride as a R2-unit and such, cause they don't get any points if they not part of the fight

I would really like it in the game just to help teamwork. Who cares if its not logical. The hole story about star wars isent logical. So i would really like this feature in the game. Just make the tie firghts lasers more powerfull. Or let them have more on the map death star. Also With all the gun turrents on it they need r2d2.

No I'm sorry but making a human play a droid is just going too far. And from what I have heard the majority does not like it. It's not fun. All you do is repair. Sorry we can't include it. The X-Wing can only hold one person anyways, according to lore.

damn u and smurfing lame pie mod! It should be auto then With and r2d2 in the xwing modle and it repairs u also in the y wing. And from what i have seen most people want it. Maybe your mod team dosent but we do.

fine maybe make it were u can spwan as r2d2 on the death star map. Then u can enter the y-wing and x-wing.
