Topic: Hey First Strike

I just saw the interview on TotalBF2 and decided to check out your mod, being a huge Star Wars fan. I must say this mod looks very promising and I've been dreaming about a Star Wars mod for BF2, after the enormous success of Galactic Conquest in BF1942.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2 are huge failures IMO. They felt like arcade games, and SWBF2 especially is highly inaccurate to the Star Wars universe. I did some modding for SWBF, tweaking the classes, vehicles, weapons, skins, etc., but nothing huge. My red ARC Sharpshooter mod ( http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co … tion;37021 ) was a hot download for a while.

But when it comes right down to it, the core problem of SWBF is the core of the game itself, the engine. Which leads me to a question I have for the First Strike guys... is First Strike going to feel like you're playing Battlefield 2, when it comes to gameplay? Because I like the gameplay of Battlefield 2 a lot. Like, one problem with SWBF gameplay is that the weapons always have perfect accuracy, even if you're running around jumping all over the place. In Battlefield 2, you have to aim your weapon carefully at medium and longer ranges and stay still, lie prone with LMG's, etc. You know what I'm saying?

Yes Battlefront 2's failures wasn't the game itself, but the engine. The BF2 engine is superb so it'll look very good.

Battlefront 2 felt to be honest, impersonal. I found it impossible to get sucked into the game and have teh feeling of 'biegn' in star wars. Of course this was all on teh xbox version, I could be a tad ignorant on the PC 1. This is one of the reasons I'm looking foward to the First Strike mod, using the Bf2 engine could make it feel as if your reallyin that star cruiser.

And just to mention this, I think you guys should try to put in as much interactive 'prop' items as feasible. By this I mean, holographic projecters where you can change whats on, or turbolifts where all the buttons glow correctly (like each floor number lights up when it gets there), or any other thing that would really make it feel authentic. Also, if you employ alot of dynamic objects like star destroyers an moncal cruisers (the ones that you cant control) that could move on preprogrammed path ways, and have them blast away with turbo lasers into each others shields (just to make it looks cool and step up the intensity) it would be cool.
