I have a question about the way your speeder bikes will handle. I've heard that alot of people liked teh way teh speeder bikes handled in GC, so I may be way out there when I say that I have to disagree. They just seemed way, way to fragile. And I'm sure that there fragile in the star wars universe too, but the mod is mostly about gameplay isn't it? What I'm pretty much refering too is the speeder bike battle in return of the jedi. That was freaking awsome, and I would love to see it replicated in FS. but for that to happen both the map and handling properties would have to be totally customized to bring out hte best attributes of that battle. For one thing, the speederbikes would have to be stable, and not totally spin out of control (or simply explode) when they bump side to side, like in that battle. The perfect feel I could thnk of would be similar to teh buggy in Bf2, except even more stable. Now that the bf2 engine lets passengers in viechles weild their weapons, there could be some intresting moments as the speeders clash, with passengers blasting away at each other (though it would be even neater if u could code a way to restrict weapon use on the back of those things to a pistol, for obvious reasons). And one more thing, I opened another thread discussing viechle highjacking in a thread in the 'want list'. I can't think of a cooler application for that than speeder bikes. For instance, what if you could mess with the exit piont on the passenger seat on the speeder bikes so that when a player exits that position, it kinda throws him to the left a few feet, letting him clamber onto a enemy's bike that is directly ajacent to it, and board it in the way I suggested in that thread, just like luke did. That was cool.
Also it would be neat to see a map completely dedicated to that battle on the bikes on endor. It could be a cool, weaving race track style map in the middle of a forest (though it shouldn't be too dense so the bikes can go through it no prob) where the imperials have to reach that base (a flag that counts for enough tickets to instantly bleed the rebels into losing if it's captured/reached) to tell the higherups that theres a rebel cell on the moon (since they have their comlinks jammed). And it's the rebels mission to stop them, all of this happening just like the film, on speeder bikes.
