Re: 2142
Oh psshhhfchaw!
You're only saying that sci-fi games are unpopular because the big sci-fi shooters are only in development right now. I'm telling you, sci-fi is going to be the new WWII of shooters in a year or two. I'm sure before MOH, COD, BF42, and other huge WWII shooters people thought that WWII was unpopular for games and had a small fan base.
I'm sure that most, if not all, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory players are going to switch to QuakeWars: Enemy Territory when it comes out (WWII to sci-fi), as with many BF players going to BF2142.
Blah blah blah, everyone's tired of doing what they've been doing and are switching to different things, namely sci-fi.
Ooh, ooh, do I even need to mention the huge success that Battlefront was in terms of sales? Yeah, it played like hot bantha poodoo, but it sold like hot bantha cakes.
Even the mod community is starting to do more sci-fi, there's I think 3 or 4 original sci-fi mods for BF2 in development, and then the unoriginal ones like First Strike, empire rising (the other sw mod, I think that's what it's called), stargate mod, and RoK. Yeah, there's clearly no interest in sci-fi.

Arrgh, yar... arr ar arrgh!
