Topic: Kits

Hey I don't mean to be a nuisance but, I was just thinking. I was looking through the set ideas for the kits y'all are going to use and I couldn't help but think all the pilots for the imperial side is kind of redundant especially when most of the time people will be going around without vehicles and not piloting anything.

The Assault, Sniper, and Anti-Tank kits are very sound but I was wondering about some of the others.

I thinking that a Storm Commando shouldn’t be a heavy weapons kit and should be like a Bothan Spy counter-part since they are both espionage and covert attack type units in the star wars universe. so they could both replace the spec-op units.

For the engineer side what about just using an imperial engineer? I believe they wear olive green officer uniforms.

For heavy weapons, the only thing that would fit for the imperial side would be a Dark Trooper which I believe one of the different personas of them had them carry a heavy assault type weapon.

And lastly I think a Imperial Officer should be a counter-part of a Mon Calamari Officer.

On a different note I was wondering… for a medical kit for reviving and stuff. I know there isn’t any support of it in the star wars universe, and mainly a medical droid treated people but with it going with battle field 2 I wonder if people would reject this idea…

I think it would be neat and since a medical system is built into the battle field 2 engine for there to be a kit for that purpose unlike the battlefront where they used an at-st pilot.

For the imperial side and an easy way I’d just take an imperial officers uniform and change the uniform color to something else maybe a different lighter green or different shade light blue green or something..

Instead of a refibulator maybe have a pulse device of some sort?

Just a thought.

The kit layout on the web page is outdated, we reviewed and changed the layout a week or two ago, the new kit layout will be up soon, as the website is being overhauled.

I believe most of this will be addressed in the updated Web page.

I'm really hoping you left out medics. BF2 would be amazing without medics.

Medics are the bane of BF2. Although some medics actually help out in fight, many simply run around with shock paddles out reviving like crazy. While it is nice to be revived on occasion, I couldnt count the number of times that enemy armor has been attacking and people keep respawning as medic instead of AT.

Medics also make the assault class rather defunct, as they get the same or better weapons. SF has a much better balance, with assault getting the grapple.

Strange, because most of the time when I'm playing, I never get revived, except maybe once in a while in an urban map. Also, if you're in a squad, it's much better to have a medic; if the squad leader falls, you can get him back up.

This is incorrect. Assault soldiers get a grenade launcher which was often grossly overused, and gets much more primary ammo than medics, as well as body armor.
