Topic: Rate of Fire

I was watching teh star wars movies...again...and they got me wondering about something. I noticed that teh blasers in IV to VI are not very fast firing at all. They seem to look like shot single shot, but very powerful, in a fashion that reminds me alot of an M1 garand. Yet in games like battlefront (which I happen to hate) the assualt blasters fire at a crazy rate, and are much weeker than they appear to be in teh movies. So my question is whats First Strike's stance on this? Neither way is really bad, just different. GC had very fast firing weapons too now that I think of it. How would you guys preffer it?

In the movies they choose the single-shot setting rather than full-auto (in BF2 you can change it, remember?) because it is mostly close-quarters combat. On the battlefield, I'd except the troops to fight it out with guns blazing. In RotS we saw plenty of droids and clones firing their blasters in fully-automatic mode... so I don't see why you can't just have it be able to switch from single-shot to full-auto.

Yea, itl be much like BF2 rifles where there is a single shot and full auto.

Thats good, best of both worlds there. I'm still dying to see how the blaster bolts and the impact they make when they strike something looks!

There was a screen shot of a laser bolt testing on Strike at Karkand that was posted a while back. The bolts looked really nice and actualy lit up the area it passed with light.

Thats good to hear, seeing as how the system in GC made it look very unrealistic.
