Couldn't you use a uav style vehicle, a drop ship, that could fly down on scripted courses and drop vehicles on spawn positions? Or how about instead of dropships, the equivelant for ground transports towing the vehicles down roads until they reach the drop point.
I'm not that knowledgeable about the BF2 engine, but I doubt the towing idea would work. But the dropship, if you could get the UAV to fly striaght (probably possible) you just make the UAV look like a dropship - then spawn a vehicle drop underneath it. If done right, It should look good enough. PLus, since the UAV can be destroyed, no reason why transports cant either (although with higher health, obviously).
