Topic: Modeler for "hire, rent, target practice"

Mod Experience: Very Little
Expertise In: 3D Modeling using Rhinocerous 3D.

Although I primarily use Rhino 3D, the application will allow me to export to MOST formats including .3ds for 3D Studio Max.   I do have a copy of G-Max which I am still learning if you prefer models in a G-Max format.  As for desired content, I am willing to model anything from props to ships.  I may need some basic assistance with making the models animation ready though (key-framed?).   If you would like some samples of my work, I can e-mail up to 10 meg files through standard e-mail...or I can try to post a rendered image here in the forums.  As a warning, I tend to love detail, so some of my models can be fairly LARGE in file size.

I do have a fair collection of pre-drawn items (mostly ships) already.  Modifying these for use in the game should require little effort, and in most cases simply saving the model with fewer polygons.

Current Projects:  Currently, I am assembling a collection of Astromech Droids complete with tools.  I have just finished creating R2D2 with ALL of the known tools and gadgets we see in the movies.  The model is very finely detailed and can even be used to build a real model if anyone is so modivated.  My hope is to be able to animate him so that I can show how the tools are articulated.

Thank you for listening to my ramblings.  It's my hope to be considered for the team.  smile

Any screenies ? Would be good to see. Out of 10 how well do you think you can model with 10 being an UberModeller smile

My wife would kill me for underestimating, but I would rate myself as maybe about 7.  Experienced, but not a Lucas Arts Master by any means (though I would love to be).

I will have to wait until I get home from work to upload some screen shots for you.    I may need to re-render some items for show.

Thanks we all look forward to it.

Re: Modeler for "hire, rent, target practice"

OK, I may need just a tad bit of help.   I am trying to display a pair of images that I have rendered as samples.  But, after reading the "How-To" on loading images, it looks like I need them in a web page.   Is there a way to directly load an image for viewing, or do I need to create a quick web-page and then make a link to image on the page?
