Topic: B-wing ejection

Will the B-wing have an ejection system like it did in the game Rebel Assault 2? As far as I know it is the only starfighter in the starwars universe with a completely enclosed ejectable pod, which is one of the things that makes it so cool.

If FS doesnt have parachutes and you try to jump out then may the force be with you.

Re: B-wing ejection

Pods are available in this game, in fact there already built in in several places. So its more than a possibility. Like everything guys its time.

Re: B-wing ejection

I really liked Rebel Assault II, great game for its time and the ejection idea is a good one. Just give it a delay of maybe 5 seconds so that people who are cheap don't bail right away because they are bad pilots.

Re: B-wing ejection

I believe most ships have ejection abilities (at least x wings do, read the rouge squadron series). I'm not entirely sure if it would be good for gameplay. I do think it would suck you into the game more, but how would you feel if after your hard fought dog fight the guy just bailed. Tho it might be made to work out. What if the ejection thing (like what the wookie was barkin about) was a vehicle? It could act like the assualt pods launching from a apc. I know xwings didn't use a pod, but perhaps they're seat comes with them...or something? That way the guy would just float around (you set the ejection seat vehicle for 0 g, like aquila said before) and the guy that just made you eject could come around and hit ya. Which kinda takes away the point of ejecting in the first place...
Unless you could have a special shuttle intended for rescue purposes, where anyone that ejects shows up on their minimaps. Perhaps teh motivation t onot suicide could be points for the both teh rescuer and rescuee.

Re: B-wing ejection

The ejection system would need a small manuvering jet to control it, otherwise, because of the inertia and 0 g the person would keep flying towards the edge of the map at the same velocity the ship was going when he jumped. Then he would be punished for going out of bounds. If the ejection system had limited fuel like the escape pods on GC then a rescue might be necesary. The pilot of the recovery vehicle would have to be given points for recovering EV players or most people wouldnt want to do it.

Re: B-wing ejection

Well the ejection pods are meant for fast trips from your ship to the ground, so I don't think it should be used as a vehicle. BUT, to be fair, let it have the ability to be locked onto.
