Yes they are meant for a fast trip to the ground. The problem is I really doubt there will be any planets on the space maps. Maybe asteroids? Asteroids with tunnels? I'd love to see an a-wing slip through a crack that its pursuing tie fighter is just too big for. The author of the X-wing series liked to make this happen, but it was with X-wings.

Hmmm you just brought up a really cool idea wooks. Wouldn't it be something to have several asteriods with crevices threw them (what I mean to describe here is an asteriod very similar to that from episode 2, when obi went threw that asteriod to escape jango) that our dogfights could happen in? That would certaintly up the intensity.
