Topic: 2142 aircraft have shields

This picture of an aircraft from 2142 shows a shield around the fighter that looks just like the active defence shield on mechs.

I'm not sure if that's a shield though, I saw the latest gameplay video and I think that's just an effect from either some sort of energy weapon or the repulsors. Anyone know for sure?

I'm fairly usre that is a shield, both the hover tank and mech use it in this video:

Form that video it looks to me more like some sort of EMP weapon. I'll cheack out the other link, in the dev section.

Its called by EA Active Defense and its a shield that prevents damage and it lasts for a short period of time and takes a long time to recharge. There hasn't been any confirmation (at least from what I've read) that aircraft have it, but from looking at that picture and the one below they look similar.

Its a shield.... I saw an effect sorta like Independence Day's mothership shield in one of the vids.
