The canopy should be functional, similar to the canopy of the X-Wing, if it weren't going to be functional, I would have made it a part of the main hull to save polies smile  It will function as a part of the landing gear system, it will close as you accelerate and it will open if you stop.  It should be very easy to animate and implement a functional canopy.

Hmmmm.... Great question. If we stop, will the landing gear come down and the canopy open? Or did you implement the idea of having a button controling it like we were talking about a while ago?

hmmm, I'm not completely sure about that.  You'll have to wait for our coder to come along and answer that question.  I know that there will be things that are different in space combat, but I'm not sure how that particular feature will work.

Hahaha.... suffocation big time...  Is there such thing as like an idle state for the planes? Like when it isn't moving at all. Not based on how much thrust there is but if it is actaully moving even without thrust.

The landing gear should probably be tied to a button, very far away from the main controls, if you open it in space you're dead smile
