Hansolo: Download the BF2 Editor and try the tutorials available with it.
Find your way around the editor and get used to experimenting with the code.
Practice and patience with this.

I just applied for a coder position. I've never coded before, but I just downloaded the BF2 editor and tutorials. As I said in my application, I've got lots of time at home and work for learning, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute soon. smile

Felix I can only commend you on your wishes to Code in the Engine. What I would say is by all means try the Tutorials have an understanding for what the Engine does, con files and tweak files and persevere.
http://bfeditor.org/bfeditor/  has lots of decent tutorials too. When you think you have a decent enough undertaking of the coding complexities, come chat again here. Im sure theres someone who can help you further.

Statics are mainly only unwrapping, with common skins used for multiple statics. I prefer to unwrap things myself, so I have no desire to have any pure unwrappers unless they're doing statics.
