Re: First Strike survey #2

1. I only play commander when it appears that the team I'm on has no clue whatsoever in tactics. This being from forming squads to squad leaders supporting their squad members.

In other words we are getting our buts kicked because everyone wants to be the lone hero only to get slain because their is no strategy, that's when a commander is needed not only for supply drops but to get everyone organized.

2. I used to play commander everytime when BF2 first released but after that it was more of a nuisance than rewarding or fun. Everyone on every server always did a mutiny against anyone who was a commander. It also requires the person playing the role of commander to only do that and not participate in fighting.

If you choose to fight as a commander instead of being the commander then many squad leader request, organization and tactics fall short. I think most people want to play than just hide somewhere and play the role of commander. I prefer to be a squad leader than a commander and you definately find in the BF2142 beta that most games going on any server there is no commander.

Re: First Strike survey #2

1. Because occassionally I get good people who listen and follow orders and it's fun to help them win.

2. Because tards don't listen and it can be boring when that happens.  You feel like a dunce because no one does what you say, then they gripe because you don't do anything.  It's a catch 22.  This is most of the time.

Re: First Strike survey #2

I used to play commander a lot before 1.3.... when you actually got points for shooting people and doing stuff.

Now you get average points, no matter what you do, so whether you suck or rock as commander, you get same score. And its entirely up to your team whether you win or not.... unless both teams REALLY suck, in which case you can determine the outcome if youre commander and hopefully have vehicle assistance (ie, in tank, aircraft, etc)

I personally won't listen to a commander unless they listen to me. If i've killed half the enemy team and ask for supplies or arty, if they send it, ill listen to em. If they dont, and my super awesome strategic position is lost because of a moronic commander, then to hell with what they say.

Good commanders always let you know when you request stuff, either if its not available now, or its coming down. Bad ones (80 percent or more) dont do anything.

Ironically, whenever my team seems to have the least strategy, theirs seems to have the most. I can handle one or two enemies at a time; they usually come in groups of 6 when im alone smile
