Topic: Question about pilot visibility in FS

I wasn't sure whether or where to actually post this question:

I've never been happy with the pilot's visiblity in the BF series, but it could just be my setup.
I know that the cockpit/driver view system has to be compatible for both flying and driving vehicles, but it seems a bit clunky to me.

I've had trouble assigning 'mouselook' to my joystick's hat switch in the past finally having to be content with just the chase and rear views. hmm
(I'd have to take my hand off the throttle to move the mouse anyway.)
It just feels like I'm flying with very limited visibility.

Is it possible to change this in a mod?  Perhaps cut it down to one key (instead of a 2 key combo) that will do maybe even a quick pan in the desired direction?

On the other hand, is anyone happy with the mouse look as it is?  How do you have it set up?
If you tell, I promise not to fire first. tongue

Re: Question about pilot visibility in FS

I use the mouse like millions.

So I use alt+mouse. They can do that but it gets tied to a fire function so, do you want to be able to shoot, or be able to look at the dead ewoks?

Well I'd like to use my hat switch if possible.

Re: Question about pilot visibility in FS

Thats not going to work... BF doesn't have a bind that would work with it.
