Re: Space Suits

, their could be an little airlock position of the ship that functioned exactly like the pod launcher on the 2142 apcs, except instead of launching a pod, it launches a little vehicle space suit with a fusion cutter so u could float over and repair the ship's individual parts outside (shields, turrets, etc.) if the devs choose to have those.

Just remembered this, this is a brilliant idea. Forget the repairing though, this can be used for boarding! You shoot out the side of your ship (in a space suit shaped drop pod) and aim for the enemy hangar.

You could also use it to get on friendly ships. Fed up of missing transports? Head over to the airlock and fly over.

This mechanic was in GC as well, and it worked beautifully. You can also see this happening in the Clone Wars cartoon. I would be all for it, as boarding was one of my favorite aspects of that mod.

Re: Space Suits

I have really got to play that - spose I should just pay the £5 or so for 1942.

Re: Space Suits

Actually, I don't think that that would work well if there are auto-turrets unless it was a two hit kill. It would be either useless for ships and be just right for boarding, or just plain illogical because turrets would certainly not do the same amount of damage to ships as to personnel.

Yea I really like this idea..

I'm thinking suits sorta like deep sea diving suits from movies..  Mini-Mech Exo-skeleton type things.

It would be awesome to be able to "fly" out the Air lock and repair engines/shields/guns..  Repairing the titan guns from inside is kinda lame in my opinion.  Even an area of effect repair upgrade might be used to make things a little easier.

Having a small Space Suit Hanger with its own force field would be nice as another entrance for assaults from nearby capital ships. Blow up some console or power station and the field goes down.

I would think the suits would be only good at short range. Just for repairing or for short trips to really close capital ships.

Well unless I can be an r2 unit and drive around on the outside of the ship lol
