Topic: Rant Alert: Episode III GRRRR!!
OMFG! I hate star wars (ok i didnt mean that, but hey....). Having just watched Episode III, as great as it is, it p****s me off how Anakin was so easily succumbed to the darkside. I mean he was wise enough to report Palatine to the Jedi Order, but as soon as he mentioned some hacking, bulls**t power to save people, he jumped ship! I mean, if im a high ranking First Strike player, and i see a young newbie with potential on a server do u think a line like "Join the Empire and i will give u free cookies and save ur pet kitten from all evil dogs" make him hit tab and switch teams ? Its just not real :@

Re: Rant Alert: Episode III GRRRR!!
People in love often do stupid stuff ( like getting married ) Thing is ..he had visions of his mother dieing..then she did. He had visions of Padme dieing ..so he thinks she will and theres nothing he can do cos she was gonna die during childbirth. An almighty sith comes along and tells you about some sith powers that can save people from death .. He shoots lightning out of his fingers lol .. theres no reason to think its false. All in all I thought that whole sequence in the concert room was awesome. A big gripe with me is that they should have shown more of the Kashyyk battle. In the cinema , when all the wookies started charging in , I got ready for a sweet battle but 1 min later its gone!

Its the classic "we cut short the battle scenes". Look at Endor space. Got interrupted by a load of tedy bears running around.

Re: Rant Alert: Episode III GRRRR!!
Episode III was a piece of crap. We got some great action for the first 15 minutes and then the entire thing spiralled into the prequel BS mode. I mean, the acting in the original trilogy was camp, and it worked because the story was action driven. The prequel trilogy is weighed down at every cut and wipe due to the amount of storytelling and real 'acting' required from Portman and Anakin Guy. I'll get flamed for this, but Episode I is still my favourite of the prequels because it had the best set pieces of the trilogy. The escape from the Trade Federation ship, the podrace, the battle on the Plains of Naboo, and Darth Maul. Everything had a grand, nostalgic feel to it. I hate the Gungans as much as anyone but Otoh Gunga, and in fact everything on Naboo had the most beautiful set design. Also, the 4 or 5 second musical flourish when Darth Maul kills Qui Gon is probably the finest musical cue in the entire Star Wars saga. Bravo John Williams!

Yes, those bits were good. However, it was spoiled by a few things: Mannequin Skywalker for one, that boy could not act (whatever happened to the sixth sense kid?). Ridiculous frog creatures somehow worse than the ewoks (at least the ewoks looked crap and fought well, the gungans just loooked stupid and fought terribly). Rather wooden acting from Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. McGregor got much better in the next two films. The general small-scale of the conflict (in every other film much more is at stake than one pointless planet). Terrible ending (come on, flies inside by accident and kills battleship?). Sudden disappeareance of 50 TF battleships. Dumb leaders of the TF. Wheres the Tarkin types? Oh, and Jar Jar Binks.

Haha, that made me laugh. I liked how Starwars 4,5,6 never had dull carp moments. And why the hell was Jar Jar Queer even in the movie?

Re: Rant Alert: Episode III GRRRR!!
In the end ..no matter what , the prequels couldnt match up to the classics. No other movie has come close to eps 4,5and 6 ......Lord of the Rings aside. Im not sayin I hated the Prequels. I mean, I still believe that they will get better with age but ,again, they cant get close to the classics. If GL turned round and said he was gonna make an ep3.5 I would be really happy. im not one of these guys who say "give it up lucas..its done" .. I just love SW(even if it is a prequel). The only thing i do agree about is that ep6 was THE END of the saga..no eps7 , 8 or 9 etc.. I dont wanna send the topic - off topic ..but id love to see a bunch of movies based around the old republic ( around the KOTOR era ...not neccessarily Revan etc ... more like the old Sith lords mentioned on Koriban )
