Re: Spyware

Plenty of people buy the game to play mods...

For example:
My freinds bought the game because they loved playing DC at my house....

If there are ads required by EA and they don't state anything specific we'll just bury them tongue

I think Talon makes a point. Aren't we supposed to buy the game and all of its addons and booster packs. Then play it for a year and a half till Battlefield Bad Company or another new BF title comes out. Who cares about the budget section as long as you have got full price games.

Re: Spyware

I have to disagree. First Strike made a huge impact on my purchasing decision, as did FH2 did for Battlefield: 2 (not as much in the latter, but it was definitly in my mind).

Hey, you got your Star Wars in my Star Trek!!

Re: Spyware

You're a tester though, so that's a teeny bit different.

But I know lots of people who've bought games exclusively for the mods.

Re: Spyware

I for one bought BF2142 exclusively for FS.  Other mods that come out will be icing on the cake (if they are good). I have played 2142 some but I don't find it anywhere as enjoyable as 1942 was when it first came out.  The same goes for BF2 when that came out, and probably why I stopped playing it when I did.

Back to 1942, it was starting to loose it's appeal to me when I DL'ed GC (that was just before version 3 was released) and that kept me interested. Along with DC, FH and EoD.

So there are those of us who's motivation to buying BF2142 was a means to play the mods.

With that said, hurry up and release tongue

Re: Spyware

Yea but bf1942 was thefirst kind of game like it so of course it keeps you interested longer.
