Topic: Death Star map

Ok This map im looking foward to. My first question in GC IF you got a rockent into the hole did u win? Becuase when i played that map i never got it in. Also if so will it be like this in FS. Next question the the hole be 2 meters wide like in the movie? Also this is what i would like in FS it is near inpossable to go up and shoot down when going down the trench. So i would like the hole to be on the wall at the end of the trench being 2 meters wide. Then make it like 10 meters deep inside and your rocket has to hit the end of the hole to win the map with out hitting the sides inside of the hole. Also for the x-wings they had computer aimers could the be made kind of like the tv guided mission in bf2. To help aim but it would be hard to fly and keep it straite? This would be nice to have. Then again this would then to made even with the ties maybe to make it fair make them more powerfull. Or easyer to shoot someone or lock on. What have u to say FS Devs?

Thats not a bad idea.

The problem with havin the map end as soon as you manage to get a torpedo into the hole is that the likelyhood of the map finishing fast is high . However ,since Iv been concentrating on the Y wing , I havent kept up with the other dev's ideas for this map.

As for the computer aimers/tv-guided idea, I don't think it would be that great of an idea for the X-Wing because, as heydude mentioned, it would be impossible to fly while guiding the missile.

Instead, as I proposed earlier in a seperate thread, why not make a two seater version (there is lore to back this up) of the Y-Wing where the gunner controls the tv-guided missiles.  The balancer in this case would be the Y-Wing's vulnerability to fighters as it is far slower and less manueverable than the X-Wing.  In the movie they had a group of Y-Wings attempt to make the shots, but they were destroyed by Vader in his TIE advanced.

One way to make it last longer, might be to put a strong defense near the shaft end. So that it would be virtually impossible to get in range before most of the defenses have been destroyed. To make sure the defenses are always active, they could turn into AI controlled when not manned by a player.

Another way that comes into my mind, is that other controll points need to be controlled by the team, before it would be possible.

Was also thinking about small shield generators on the way, that have to be destroyed first. But that would go outside the movies.

give the shaft of the Death Star a heat signature, so the x-wings can lock on it smile

But give it also health, so u need to bomb it a certain amount of times before it explodes
