You don't neccessarily need to post a lot, but you need to post frequently, and your posts need to get you a reputation for staying on-topic and giving great criticism and being overall supportive.  Causing troubles doesn't help in anyway, so try and avoid any flaming and bashing on the forums, and avoid spamming.  The more constructive your posts are, the better off you will be.
