Topic: A New Standard is Born in PC Technology.
So, what am I talking about? Nvidia's G80 graphics chip! Although it's a bit expensive for a first generation product of a new standard, it out performs anything on the market today, even a single G80 card will out perform dual 1950XTXs. So, what is the new standard I'm talking about? DirectX 10!! Vast physics are now available since this also serves as a PPU, more complicated geometries are available, more complex textures than ever before, and of course, all of the great features of DirectX 10. On a flip note, ATI's code-named R600 GPU/PPU has been 'outed' which is the equivalent of an Alpha for software. Not too many details of ATI's new up-and-coming DirectX 10- card has been revealed yet, but this week marks the first production of the silicon for the R600.-0
