Yup.  Fear of orbital bombardment is a much more powerful motivator than just because it says so when you bring up the map.

That's what I suggested for orbital strikes from Star Destroyers. But it doesn't make sense for Rebels, because they don't have air support.

Well I'm not sure about other maps, but I don't think that the rebels should get artillery on Hoth.  Since there weren't really any specific arty units in the movies, maybe they should only give a team artillery if there is evidence that the team had orbital support in the movies.  I'm not sure how that would affect gameplay tho, it might frustrate the rebel commanders.  Maybe they could get more bonus points if they win than Imperial commanders.  i.e. rebel commander gets 2.5x bonus for a win while Imp commander gets 2x bonus for a win.

Either that or they could get mortar teams which just sit there when you go to put C4 on them.

I don't see what's wrong with there just being self-propelled/towed artillery on the map. Okay, you didn't see it in the movie, but you didn't see Bothan Spies and Mon Calamari Officers either so what's the difference?

Yes, but there was no reference to mobile arty in the movies, even though there is stacks throughout the EU.

There was no reference to Storm Commandos either, but they're in the mod. Just because there's no reference doesn't mean it isn't there.
