lol, thats really funny.  Yeah you die. I tried parachuting from a jet over and over but I couldn't ever make it inside.  Finally I just took the cobra, hovered above it, exited the helo, parachuted a ways into the huge tower, then promptly died for no apparent reason

like a fire effect, but without the visible flames.  Just make it so that if you get too close to it, it drains your health very quickly.  After all, it is a thermal exhaust port for the freakin Death Star, there must be some hot stuff comin out of there.  I don't think you would be wanting to stand next to it.

it could get a bit one sided, because all the imperials would have to do is park a heat generating Vehicle next to the vent with a pack of engineers to repair it as the attacking wave passes, unless its possible to prioritize the lock function, which again could get irritating as you're trying to kill a fighter, and your missiles decide to switch targets on you halfway through the flight.

and grudgingly, I'd give Hey's idea merit too, cause it gives the Ywing a bit more potency, and I'm a big Y wing fan. Xwings and Awings are all well and good for hit and fade, but the Y covers all the bases. slowly.

u forget we can change in bf2 the system between ground and air targets, so we can give the vent we need to destroy the ID of a groundtarget, so if u change to groundtargets, u just get this one as a lock and maybe also turbolasers (what if u make the turbolasers like this, once destroyed not able to repair them anymore??)

thats exactly what I was saying Dragunov, make the vent a ground target, not a heat source.  Since there wouldn't be any ground targets that would be mobile in the DS, that would work well.  Only problem would be that then you wouldn't be able to use your missiles agains't fighters.
