Most people playing wouldnt think of it as a YT-3100, they would think of it as The Millenium Falcon.

If you use the ACTUAL 1300 design as opposed to the Falcon (which looks quite different) I think it might be clear it's not the Falcon (lack of sensor dish, only one laser turret, no missiles, not all scorched up, all those patches on the hull would be ONE SMOOTH SURFACE with no gaps in the plating, etc)

And a 1300 with one of the mandibles missing would be weird, and for that idea to work wouldn't there have to be a different model for each ship in each level and wouldn't that be much too difficult to implement. Better to use the proper base 1300 and maybe paint a small rebel symbol here and there.

Still, the 1300, as nice as it would be, still doesn't strike me as a troop transport ship.
Damn, I'm gonna go and play some X-Wing, because I'm sure they used something in that game to transport troops.

I do agree that a yt series ship is the best choice. Something along the lines of the yt-1300p (http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images … _72dpi.jpg).

Though I would like to see some variety and have something different to drive. for instance, Personally I'm all for the obscure delta transport. Give the rebels the delta and the imperials this:

Dude, the Gamma? I love that thing!!!! It was the Stormtrooper Strike Transport from X-Wing!

It says in the article that the Deltas were used by the Rebel Alliance. And I remember a mission in Tie Fighter where they were attacking an imperial station or ship (so long ago).

It says in the article that the delta was replaced with the gamma, so doubtless the Rebels took over some of the left overs.
