Actually, if memory serves me right, the TIE Interceptor didn't enter Imperial service until just prior to the events of TESB. Many of the key designs were taken from Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1 prototype after The Battle of Yavin.

Another common misconception is that the A-wing was in Alliance service during the events of ANH when in actuality, the A-wing didn't enter Alliance service until some time after. The A-wing was derived from an experimental starfighter the Alliance was testing during the events of ANH, the R-22 Spearhead, and General Jan Dodonna & Engineer Walex Blissex examined the role of speed at The Battle of Yavin.

I need to pull out my reference material and refresh my memory on the exact time the A-wing entered service in the Rebellion. What I do remember is that it was around the period of TESB.

Actually, the R-22 Spearhead was created to explain why the Alliance had A-Wings before ANH in Empire At War. Prior to that there was no a-wing prototype.

Re: I know it's big, but...

Actually, that's not true. R-22's were mentioned quite a few years back before Empire at War was released. big_smile

Re: I know it's big, but...

Let's face it, we can safely ignore EaW simply because of how much it ignores and contradicts established canon.

Re: I know it's big, but...

They could have made it work, if they simply set it between episodes 5 and 6. They failed to grasp that the Rebellion barely existed between eps 3 and 4, let alone had the reources to fight on par with the empire.

Re: I know it's big, but...

There's nothing to imply there were not more than one YT-1300 in the galaxy. We only saw one shuttle, too, but I have this feeling there was more than one of those, too:P.

As for the Death Star: Two words: Galactic Conquestlol.

Re: I know it's big, but...

It would be cool indeed if we could get a 3D deathstar map... I'm not too big a fan of the trenchrun (because of my poor flying skills sad )

oh, and wow! Pie did something Lore-ish! :-o

Re: I know it's big, but...

A 3D death star would have to be shrunken down, which'd severely decrease its fun rate. Believe me, I've tried (an old X-Wing Alliance project).

And the Battle of Yavin IV was not around the Death Star in the first place, it was right over its surface in a limited area.

So in my opinion, making a full 3D object is simply neither neccessary nor a good idea game-play-wise.
