Hehe , I think when it comes to naming stuff and being accurate we will look to the movie.

In ROTJ , Han blew up the power generators (those orange things inside the bunker complex) which caused a chain reaction all the way up to the Shield Projector , miles to the north. So whether you call them power generators or shield generators it doesnt really matter since they are the same thing. The actual orange things are power generators ..but that power is used to generate a shield..

I personally don't care what you call them, there is obviously a difference between a power generator and a sheild generator but they are linked so it doesn't really matter.

Shield generator explodes, sheild goes down....

Power generator explodes, shield goes down....

Thing no one really knows the name of explodes, shield goes down....

*nods*  I guess in conclusion it will probably come down to the mapper and the objectives he's decided upon for the map smile  from there it's just going to fall in with "what works best on the map"

well the ATAT can be a base for the troopers/"THE DARK SIDE!!!!" and one of those...in the kinda roundish, huge ship...that was in the space battle of "The New Hope" for the rebels. Well this is just an idea that popped out of my head so see if u can...it wont matter really. I am worried about the lag cuz of such huge, complex objects on both ends of the map.

The shield/power generator debate again yikes . Thanks, THX, for bringing it up so I didn't have to.

It pretty much has to be the main power gen', seeing that Veers specifically announces he's blowing the main power generator up when he takes it out.

Whereas in R.O.T.J., the radar domes are destroyed because the Rebels are finally penetrating the Executor's shields, but the unfortunate sequence of events gives the impression the domes are shield generators.

Oh, the joy of SW nerds coming together to debate the finer details of the movies. Goody [/self-ironic smartass mode].

So is there a shot in the movie where the gun was locked on to the round backbone-looking building and had the words "power generator" underneath it?

Someone didn't watch the Special Edition. The generator is clearly labeled with huge banners and flags bearing the words "MAIN POWER GENERATOR F.F.S.!!!111" in an attempt to end all debate tongue .

It seems that in the movies, no matter what you destroy it's going to be a shield generator.

Play the Rogue Squadron series and you see that even more often. If it doesn't move and can be blown up, it's a shield generator;).
