Topic: Out of Order - hilarious adventure game!

You are Hurford Schlitzing, and you've been kidnapped -with your bedroom. You now find yourselves in a futuristic high-rise over a gloomy town ruled by the mysterious "Panel". And, as you so eloquently state it: "Neither I, nor my bedroom, have any clue why".

It's not all bad, though. You've still got your doorknob. And a handful of blue StuffStik ("made 100% of melted Smurf!"). And, best of all, a CD with a heavy metal band. And you'll find even more items as you go along, from two metal letters stolen from a propaganda message to a scalped lifted from a dubious alien doctor's office.

With the help of everything from a parcel of unknown contents to a funnel to a toy car, and with the aid of, amongst others Sylvia Jjones-Jjjones, the photographer next door; Urban Leopard, the underground reporter; and Dreidre, the Human Public Announcement System, it's your self-appointed task to find out why you're in the Town, how you can get out, and, maybe, just for kicks, how to topple the Panel.

Out of Order is one of those old-fashioned point-n-click adventure games where you walk around solving puzzles rather than fighting randomly generated enemies. You have a cursor that lets you Go to, Look at, Use, Pick Up and Talk To most every item and person you come across, and you have a growing inventory of strange items that'll come in handy as you play.

The graphics are good enough for a freeware game, and the jokes are downright hilarious. Best of all, some of the puzzles are so tough that even though the game is short, it takes a short eternity and lots of determination to finish. While all the puzzles are logical, and most of them are funny to a certain degree, a few are so shamelessly hard that it took me literally months and (admittedly) a peek in the walkthrough to solve them.

O.O.O can be downloaded for free here. For you Lemmings fan, Ducks is a good bet, too, although it doesn't run right on my machine (it doesn't detect my mouse's middle button, making it unplayable sad ).

PS: I've got a bunch of screenshots I still haven't posted, and if you want to, I'll put them in one of the replies.
