Source: New Scientist magazine (I'm paraphrasing)

Apparently scientists believe they can crystallize photons. Photons are subatomic particles which compose light. Crystalized ones would have the properties of a solid. So if you stick enough photons together in a shape (eg, a stick), they might give off so much heat energy they could melt things.

So lightsabers may be real in a few decades.

Think about it, the holder of my mom's dildo would burn to death, a lightsaber didn't give off heat like this would.  This would be like a mega handheld heater
