Fantastic. Thanks man.

I wish I picked up the upgraded versions of X-wing & T.I.E. Fighter back when they were released in '97.

Do you mean the Collector's CDs? or the X-Wing Trilogy versions? Cause the Collector's ones were very good - and the Trilogy ones very, very, crappy.

No, not the X-wing Trilogy edition. However, I'm not sure how those versions differ from the X-wing Collector's Series versions.

The 1997 X-wing Collector's Series compilation included the XvT Flight Scool demo plus the X-wing Collector's CD-ROM AND the T.I.E. fighter Collector's CD-ROM. Both the X-wing & T.I.E. fighter sims were upgraded with the GUI and features from the original Mac versions and the gfx & sfx engines were upgraded to the XvT engine.

It looks like the new Lucas Classics Line is not being released in the U.S. I'm super pissed! On top of that, they ARE re-releasing the X-wing Collector Series compilation! I'm gonna have a fit. mad

Wow. Your right. I was always under the impression that U.S. citizens could not order from the U.K. branch of Amazon.com nor would they ship it to us from over seas.

Well, now that that's out of the way, it leaves me with one question left: Will these games work properly with U.S. version PCs, OSs, programs and peripherals? (That should give you a hint on how PC literate I am, lol). I don't even know if there's any difference to begin with. wink

Considering it's the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, I'd be very surprised if LA didn't release the Lucas Classics Line here in it's homeland. I wonder if they just haven't announce it, yet? hmm

Are you serious?

Of course it will work in US!

You were kidding right? Please, say you were?

Re: Fighter Controls

Some one said something a little while back about Lucas re-re-redoing the movies for the new HD "Saga" releases in a few years, and it's got me a bit scared. I can't stop thinking about it.

Now, I have to say I don't mind the DVD versions of the movies. There's like up to two things in each film I didn't like him changing and that's it. I really liked what he did.

But now I can't get images of him throwing in scenes on Coruscant with the Emperor into ANH, or Alderaan scenes, or other crap, changing the Vader/Obi-Wan duel to feature new CGI versions of the characters so they can flip and crap -- or whatever else he might do.

It just has me worried, cause I don't want to see ANH changed any more. I thought the things changed for the SE/DVDs were understandable in most cases, but anything more and it's just......

I am afraid.

But anyways, back to the actual jist of this thread.

lol I'm afraid not, my friend. I don't know much when it comes to this sort of thing. Console systems yeah, but not PCs. I wasn't sure if there was any compatability issues or coding to prevent it. But what do I know. tongue

I can relate to how your feeling. As of right now, it's just a rumor.

Personally, I really enjoyed what he's done with the '97 & '04 updates. Actually, I'm kind of surprised he hasn't done more. ILM went through a very meticulous and extremely detailed task of cleaning up & fixing continuity errors, bloopers and effects problems as well as re-inserting and re-doing a few scenes the way George originally intended them to be. Yet, there were still a lot of continuity errors, effects problems and bloopers that they didn't fix. Bizarre. I was hoping they were going to reinsert some fantastic scenes that were cut from the original theatrical versions due to time, money and effects technology constraints now that these are no longer a problem. I do like to keep the original theatrical versions handy for nostalgia purposes, though.

George has always expressed dissatisfaction with the final theatrical releases of the original trilogy. He had to make an incredible amount of comprimises on every level of the films due to constraints of time, money and technology. It drove him nuts. He wasn't able to capture the epic scope the way he originally envisioned. Being an obsessive perfectionist myself, I guess I can relate to him as well.

A few of the many scenes I'm really bummed they never finished and re-inserted, were the scenes with the B-wing in ROTJ.

Anyway, back on subject...
