Re: Bespin Revisited

I don't know about including the Freezing Chambers, they'd be akin to the Sarlacc in the GC Tattooine (sp.?) map. Sure, it was in the movies, but does it have any tactical importance whatsoever?

Re: Bespin Revisited

Exactly. The mod is about the common grunts accomplishing common grunt objectives. I fail to see them even go near cryogenic freezing chambers, as it has no tactical value.

Re: Bespin Revisited

So? Just depends how the stuff is used.  The chamber could be a pathway around a to a less defended area... Or a cross section of tunnels... Lots of ways it could be of strategic importance. Could be a place to rearm. Whatever.

If you say so. Yes, I suppose I'm grumpy.

Re: Bespin Revisited

I'm just hoping to bring this thread back to live a bit, as I feel Bespin Cloud City would indeed be a fantastic place for a scrap.

Just Imagine.

The close corridors of the buildings with their curves, make for some fantastic close combat. Laser flying all over the place. Thermal detonators flying left and right filling the corridors with smoke. It's close quarter fighting only rivaled by the Echo base corridor fighting.

The open couryards would be sniper heaven and ideal for covering a squad of teammates trying to get across it.  Several walkways constructions would mean enemies could be everywhere, therefor intensifying the experience.

Some fantastic dogfighting, because staying alive between the spires of Could City would be a feat upon itself. Cloud cars and Tie- Fighters duking it out.  Lovely.

Lore wise.
As I recall the Tibanna gas which was extracted at cloud city, was used to fuel blasterrifles. It would be instrumental for the rebels to take hold of the facility to fuel their weapons, whereas the empire would place a small garrison there to enforce the "law".
I can't imagine the Empire staging a lot of it valuable personel there, because it's so far out of the way, making it a ideal place to strike for the rebellion.

Hopefully this will be considered, but there are so many places where a good battle could be fought. This could be one of the popular "City" maps in BF2142.

Re: Bespin Revisited

Noooo Bespin, look at the amount of spires and bows and arcs n round stuff we got to model there tongue

Then again it sounds like the premise for a great map.
