Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed Tech Demo's

Gonna be visually amazing, but actually crap. Here's why:

Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers -- Force push, grip, repulse and lightning -- throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.

Jedi Knight 2 had what, 20-30 powers? This has a grand total of 4. This is just going to be the Episode 3  game on steroids.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed Tech Demo's

Yeah well 20-30 powers , 3 upgrade levels , one power on every F key, so about 9. Including push and pull as different powers, lighting, useless things like rage, and there is heal and stuff.

Re: Star Wars: Force Unleashed Tech Demo's

Yeah, basically awesome graphics but crap gameplay and baaad story.

Basically, as I've heard, you a random dark Jedi who works for Vader (where does that come from???) and you fight tons of Jedi.

Even though this game is tween Ep 3 and 4. *sigh* They need to get like an EU writer or Abel G. Pena or someone writing the stories for these games. Because it sounds like they're just choosing the content that'll best show off the engine (lots and lots of Jedi) and then just arbitrarily setting it in whatever time period LFL is most interested in these days (in this case, The Dark Times).

Story

    * You will play as Darth Vader's secret apprentice and will help him exterminate the last of the Jedi.
    * Vader finally came to realize that the Emperor had tricked him into turning towards the dark side, but he knows it's too late to go back, so the only thing he can do is destroy the Emperor with another apprentice. You.
    * You start off as a skilled Sith with the majority of powers at your disposal, from Push to Lighting. Throughout the game your powers can and will evolve to legendary strength.

1.Vader's secret apprentice? Other than how stupid and pointless that sounds -- why make up a new character? Wouldn't Hethrir fit this bill?????? And since when did Vader need help exterminating the last of the Jedi. And if he does -- isn't that the job of the Inquisitors? Tremayne, hell, let us play as Jerec and tie it into the Dark Forces series, from back when LA had integrity.
2. So, basically, Vader got the same idea he got in TESB about 20 years earlier, only it obviously didn't work, since he tries it again later -- but the Emperor didn't just kill Vader for his insolence and take his apprentice when he tried it this first time???
3. Legendary strength? So, an excuse to let the engine go apeshit at the expense of story??? If the guy was legendary -- why the smurf has no one ever heard of him?? It's just as nonsensical as intro'ing Tyber Zann in Forces of Corruption -- you should've just played as Xizor in that game -- and Hethrir in this one.

# Force powers in this game are going to be over the top. When you force push somebody, it's going to like a cannonball hit them in the gut. As for Force Usage, there will be a bar, but it will constantly regenerate. Some powers have unlimited uses such as Push, but more advanced powers such as Repulsion will take a couple of seconds to recharge. The control scheme will be akin to Psi Ops.
# In addition to toys, it will have a companion book and comic. Although the game will have multiple endings, the book and comic will follow the sole canonical ending.

1. I'm really starting to hate the Force in video games. It's just a noob weapon, basically. I mean, look at the way the Force is used in the movies and even the books, and it's never as ridiculous as in the games. I don't want to be able to pick up a building with my mind and throw it at my enemies. Force powers are cool - but not at the expense of believeability -- if the player character was so awesome, why didn't he cap Vader and the Emperor and why haven't we heard about him??
2. Y'know, I really like the multiple endings in things like DF2:JK and KOTOR, but then you know the light side ending is canon and that's fine. BUT IF THERE IS A BOOK AND COMIC WITH A DEFINITE ENDING ALREADY PLANNED OUT, WHY smurf WITH THE PLAYER'S MIND AND WASTE YOUR TIME CREATING UNCANONICAL ENDINGS????

So, like SOTE there's gonna be a game, a book, a comic, and toys. No word on a soundtrack, lol.

Unlike SOTE, the story sounds stupid and forced.
