Its not really a frigate. Its an armed heavy transport/freighter.

And its only in XWA, not tie fighter. I apologise.

The advantage is that it's 300m long, which gives plenty of room for a large interior with multiple decks.

SIGHTING: Byss and Deep Core, year +6 after Battle of Endor. [Dark Empire; Dark Empire II]


These vessels from Tagge Industries Shipyards Ltd are generic ship frameworks on which mission-specific modules are mounted. Common units include hospital, survey, observation, rescue and inquisition modules [Dark Empire Sourcebook]. One of these ships was responsible for freighting elite Balmorran war-droids to Byss, along with a hidden groups of New Republic commandoes. Not primarily a combat starship, the star hauler is mounted with only fifteen turbolaser batteries.

The front section of the ship conforms to the ideal dagger-like design of combat-capable starships, with dorsal and ventral surfaces plated with angular flat armour and a trench of more detailed honeycomb along the midplane. However the aft section is boxy, like some civilian heavy freighter designs. The command tower sits atop this block. The three sublight thruster nozzles are flush with the block's vertical stern face, with the texture of the entire assembly resembling the character of the hindsection of a Nebulon-B escort frigate.

Labelling of this ship as a “cruiser“ is an obvious misnomer since it is distinctly inferior to a mere destroyer in firepower and size; this “cruiser” label is probably best interpreted in terms of a civilian cruiser (a liner or passenger ship of some kind). Otherwise the terminology may simply be Imperial disinformation. Michael Horne, who described these ships in Dark Empire Sourcebook, explains:

“....the modular taskforce ship is smaller than a destroyer and as such doesn't qualify as a cruiser, but the name ‘Modular Taskforce Cruiser’ is the copyrighted and trademarked brand name for the ship (which would have been a mainstay of the CSA [Corporate Sector Authority] picket fleet in my unpublished materials for WEG) and as such isn't a cruiser per se, but is a cargo ship technically (and as such is scaled for House of Tagge internal military fleet protocols as a cruiser, but not in Imperial terms).”

For this map you say that it will have Zero-G Troopers or Space Troopers b/c there is differenece between them.

Space Assault Stormtroopers are trained to operate exclusively in space and other none atmospheric environments.

Launched from a transporter or modership, they are used in boarding operations and attacks against spacestations and ionized starships.

When used in ground assaults on moon bases or other facilities the troopers can be transported in 1 man troop pods. These pods are typically dropped by orbiting capital ships like Star Destroyers, and are scanner-jammer equipped to lower the risk of ground artillery attacks before landing.

The Spacetrooper armor's build in jet pack is mounted on the back and enables the trooper to cruise space with a maximum speed of 2 MGLT or 24 km/h.

While all stormtrooper armor provides limited protection against hard vacuum, one elite division has been trained to operate exclusively in outer space. Zero-G Assault Stormtroopers are deadly commandos of the higher order, second only to the Imperial Royal Guard in training, loyalty, and destructive capability. When it is necessary to capture a freighter, space station, or other spacefaring vehicles, Zero-G troopers are deployed to handle the job

A Zero-G trooper platoon uses a well fitted and heavy armored assault shuttle to stage its operations from. A five-man command crew pilots the shuttle. All communication devices are patched through the platoon commander's station so that the commander can monitor the entire team's activities. He issues orders from on board the shuttle, directing his troopers from within the flying fortress.

The Assault Shuttle is a formidable attack vehicle in its own right, but the 40 Zero-G troopers it carries are walking arsenals. Each trooper wears a standard stormtrooper shell, but then plugs into a full body armor encasing that performs as a personal spacecraft and attack vehicle. Zero-G troopers are limited by the amount of power their armor can store, but they are trained to employ their armament effectively and complete their specific mission within a limited period of time. If unable to complete their mission within the time limit, the troopers have standing orders to return to their shuttle for recharging.
