Topic: Two Man Blaster Turrets?

I read up on the Star Wars data bank that the turret seen on the defenses of Echo Base were two men crews. Does anyone know what the role of the second one was, one has to be the gunner, so mabye a look out?

mabey it wuz like the good ol' ww2 aa.... couple of ppl for pushing the aa in circles andther for fine tuning up and down / shooting

I've always liked the idea of cooperative viechles, I think having some turrets like this would be a good idea.

But what would their roles be?

1. Gunner
2. Look Out? This seems WAY too boring and uneeded.

What position do you think could fill the second person? I was thinking of an engineer, but that's too boring as well.

Perhaps some kind of guidance system? Maybe it could be a missle turret that fires dumn unless the second guy guides it.
