Re: FirstStrike better hurry and launch

I know all too well what releaseing to public demand ,believing they will forgive you for unfinished items because hey lets face it they wanted it earlier, can do to your mod.

Re: FirstStrike better hurry and launch

ArmedAssault graphic is not really the best part of the game

7.0 Graphics
The graphics engine is showing its age, though it still displays a decent amount of detail.

Re: FirstStrike better hurry and launch

Hi guys !

Pls, don´t compare apples and pears. One wants to be a military "simulator" the other one wants to be a fast paced action oriented multiplayer shooter. Large areas (ArmA) = medium graphics quality, small areas (BF series) = better graphics. The reason is pretty simple. The amount of data which is to be stored into your onboard ram is limited. You can´t have both. Perhaps 10 years later we can have have 1 terrabyte of ram and an operating system supporting it. Even Vista 32 supports 4 gigs only, so we have to be patient for a while. Besides, even the fastest internet connection available today doesn´t ensure smooth gameplay when it comes to massively multiplayer shootouts. 32 players is ok for me but for 64 players you need a very fast server and players with a good connection. So limited maps (BF series) is a good way to ensure smooth gameplay and good graphics. I hope FIRST STRIKE lets us fly a bit farther out compared to BF2 and 2142 before the counter starts.

May the Force be with you

And I hope you're also aware what not having a great PR department can do to your mod's fan base.

GC was an amazing mod, but there's a fine line between wanting to show fully-completed objects in updates, and having one news update every 1-2 months for the fans.

Both Shattered Faith and First Strike showed/are showing a much more nurturing attitude towards their communities, and I really appreciate that and am sure others do as well.

Shattered Faith? What are you talking about?!

You have got to be kidding about the PR of SF...
