Don't go see 300...it was awful.  I take that back...if you like cool camera slow downs and strange coloring, then go see it by all means...but I warn you, if you're looking to see anything that slightly resembles historical accuracy or believable dialog or...you get the point.  300 was crap.

300 was entertaining and I went to see it just for that. Movies like that should only be entertaining smile I don't think they were going for historically correct.

The movie was based on a comic book, which was a twisted version of a real battle.

A plot would have been nice.  Something vaguely resembling a story with actual characters and dialog rather than walking 6-packs reciting cheesy lines with no meaning, bearing, or character growth tongue

Yep,

I'd much rather have seen a film based on Steven Pressfield's novel "Gates of Fire" about the same battle.  A great read, can't recommend it enough.
