Re: Here comes another GC Vet

Hi,

I do remeber you but not that good.

By the way for the people that don't know I'm a little vet to and just coming back now. I followed the mod from very far distance for a while but when I saw this topic I wanted to post something smile.

I played GC at version 0.1d and later on 0.1e. I was one of the very first persons that played the 0.1e version because it was released on torrents before anybody knew but that are some very old story's big_smile.

The best version I think was 0.3 because I played that night like 4hours the mon cal. map and it was fun like hell!

Greetz grompie
maybe I'll play this mod one day. smile

Re: Here comes another GC Vet

The Imperial Landing Craft (black shuttle) antics on the Mon Cal map were ace lol  I distinctly remember following it from the water with a patrol boat, and when it tried to land outside a base, I'd send it spinning away into the air, with stormtroopers flying out of the open cargo doors lol

Re: Here comes another GC Vet

Mon Cal was awesome, but disliked by many due to the amount of teamwork it required. You'd have a team of rebels capture a platform, leave it undefended, watch it turn grey and then get captured, and go 'wow, this map stinks'.

I think the map was great. Naval combat, air combat, limited infantry encounters, that lone anti-aircraft gun on the tiny island near the eastern edge of the map... pure joy.

Playing defensive and guarding a control point rather than trying to take some enemy-held flag is not popular amongst... certain people.

That was the best part for me.  Especially if you had a determined enemy that kept trying.  I loved defending the dual flag platform and the Imp base.  And anything to do with the gunships. smile

Tbh, the best part of Mon Cal was the E-wing tongue

And welcome Jafar, another old face that I'd hoped would resurface smile
