Topic: Coding for the mod, how is it done?

Hi,
Just wondering how much of coding, as in programming, scripting.., there is in creating a mod like FirstStrike?
What kind of languages are beeing used?
Are you using any programming API that have not been released to the public ect?
What tools are beeing used?

scripting, mostly. Battlefield games are script based which makes it easy to modify and create new things, but on the con side, u get a hard time making the engine do anything it's not doing allready. there's some python coding involved in game mode mechanics too.
