Topic: Capital ships on planet surface maps.

One thing I always thought while playing GC: It would be cool to be playing on a ground combat map with a corvette or somthing flying over the battle providing support. Maybe there were no capital ships on ground missions for scaling reasons? If Capital ships were on ground maps, they could spawn ground vehicles in their hangers that could be transported to the surface by a lander. Having a feature like this could add an interesting invasion situation. One side could spawn on a  small fleet above the surface, while the other side could start on the ground in a heavily fortified position in control of every CP, without any capital ships. A capital ship without hanger space for a lander could land itself and lower a ramp for ground attack vehicles to disembark. This would place the ship in a vulnerable, but very controlling position.

I like that idea a lot, at Traction Wars, we are hoping to go for making maps a bit like this with armoured towns spawning vehicles for us.

Re: Capital ships on planet surface maps.

Could be fun to include an ISD over Mos Espa, but it would be kinda overpowered eh tongue

Yes they can.

Re: Capital ships on planet surface maps.

I dont believe they can. The VSD was made for such purposes.

Re: Capital ships on planet surface maps.

Hmm, you may be right, I though I read somewhere that they could though. ISDs would definitly fit in the atmosphere, the question is just whether they could mauver or not. In any case, It would be very cool to have a ground map set around a crashed ISD such as the one in rogue squadron 3.
