If its not already in... i think it could be a possibility to look at pick up kits


i mean.... there are alot of 'ileagal' weapons in star wars... and you can bet your butt sommeone like jabba would have a load.... so you could make a pickup kit... slap a powerful weapon in it... maybe a few goodies.... put it in a hiding place in jabba house or a room in his pallace.

think about it.... if a rebel gets cornerd in a room... sees a weapon on the wall... COULD pick it up

it turns out to be boba fetts rifle with disintergrator attachment or energy shells (whatever floats your boat) and suddenly those imps dont look all that mighty.

might not go in the first realise of First strike but could be a possability for future realises.

The need for pickup kits isnt all that high now since each kit has a choice of 3 weapons to choose from.

ATM the chance of picking up weapons ,in general, is gone i believe. since to get gender specific VO we have to tie it to the weapons and not the character. Therefore , if an imp was to pickup the bowcaster they would suddenly start howling like a wookiee . The same goes for all kits. However, i cant remember whether we are still stuck with this or if a previous patch helped us. Our VO implementation is quite slow because of the hardcoding in bf2142

If there was a workaround to the VO issue, I wouldn't mind seeing a skill-based kit or two on each level.

Skill-based, meaning that if there were a unique pick-up kit in a level that fit the canon, such as a limited jet pack on a Sarlacc Pit level, that kit would require some Tomb Raider-esque jump or trap avoidance to get to.

Another thing to consider is a flag-specific pick up kit.  For instance, if a certain side controls the armoury on a Correllian level, they get access to a kit or two including some very cool demolitions gear, or deployable city street roadblocks, or something similar.

there are some old weapons from the new movies that could be use... e.g the Wookie Bazooka.

if you give me an arguement about stayin cannon then i want you to find me the time and film you see a wookie fighting in the origanal films 4,5 and 6.
