Topic: To prevent killed soldier finding snipers position this could work

Hi there again,

I saw that there is a concern about ppl knowing the position of sniper when they get killed which will allow them to kill sniper after respawing.

May be this could work.

1 shot 1 kill but the sniper will have an enormous sway if the player doesn't control his breathing. This could be achieved whit holding the key which will stabilize the aim for certain amount of time.

The player being hit should have an instantenious white screen with the heavy sound something like flashbang in SF. Then slowly  the screen should fade from white to black preventing the player from seeing what is happening around.

What do you think ?

Your idea is original. It would bring a new aspect into the world of snipers and many of those players who play in that kit bring up that there needs to be more realisim than there is. Stated before, I'm not good in modding, or anything when it comes to modding lol. The player already sways in game right now, correct? Mabye there's a percentage for the swaying in a .con file some where that could be edited to increase the swaying?

I love your idea.  Not so much the swaying part, but that is an interesting idea as well.  I do however like the immediate white screen/fade to black idea.  That sounds very cool.  It would also let you know that you've been hit by a sniper weapon. -BLAM- sniped.  I hope that FS will give the sniper a longer run capability than the special ops type class, the sniper/scout should be the fastest and the most lightly armed soldier on the battlefield.

Re: To prevent killed soldier finding snipers position this could work

I added the sway to compansate for 1 shot 1 kill. It will kill the game if no skill is required to take out targets at long distance since the game risks to turn into the sniper war. But I hope that you noticed that I asked the breathing control too.

How it would work.

Sniper find the target at long distance. He follows it and when he feels that he's ready to pick it up he will hit the key for aim stabilization. This will provide him something like a 2 seconds where his shot will go directly to the target (sort of rail gun). He got the kill. If he doesen't fire during those 2 seconds well hi miss the oportunity to make the kill and before he can stabilize the aim once again it will take certain time.

I don't know if you've ever shot the targets at the long distance but you need to control your breath and you need alot of concetration which makes you tired quite enough.

I think that this is much better tahn the system put in place by Dice. Random accuracy with only 90 % of dammage when you hit the target.

IMHO 90 % of dammage should only be applied if the sniper hits in limbs otherwise it should be 100 %

Re: To prevent killed soldier finding snipers position this could work

if a sniper is prone, he can use his tripod to stabilize the gun, so why would we need a key to stabilize the aim? smile

Re: To prevent killed soldier finding snipers position this could work

Because the game cant simulate complex physics such as balistic trajectory which depends on the wind direction, caliber, target's distance and the muzzle velocity

Re: To prevent killed soldier finding snipers position this could work

He will also still be in contact with the weapon, and not just breathing but even the snipers hartbeat will effect his aim.
(for those who are wondering, fire between the beats, not on it smile)
