Topic: X-Wing and Torpedos

In GC, to take off you have to throttle all the way back to hover (this would also close the S-Foils when you slow down). Will it be the same for FS or will we be able to close the S-Foils at will to make us go faster? A type of afterburner i guess.

Will the torpedos of the game be seeking like BF2 or just a straight shot like GC?

I don't know much about coding or anything like that but the X-Wing doesn't have any bombs so would it be possible to code it to seek ground targets if the torpedos aren't straight shot? Like switching from bombs to missles in BF2.

Re: X-Wing and Torpedos

Torpedos find the closest hole and dive into. I'm very much like a torpedo when I think about it.

Re: X-Wing and Torpedos

That ones soo good for the gametips tongue

Oh wait we also got a question to answer hehe, afterburner would be possible without the S-foils closing, it doesn't make much sense really to go faster with the S-foils closed, since you're in space wink

If torpedoes are *hypotethically* not a straight shot, then it probably would be possible to have them home on to ground targets I think , but I'm not a coder.

Closing the s-foils doesn't make the xwing go faster that was some sort of game mechanic in anoher game I think.

The torpedoes can be made to work like missiles but we will jsut have to wait and see what the devs decide.

Re: X-Wing and Torpedos

In GC, the DEVs decided that X-Wings in an atmosphere would react differently in other words sluggish and not manuverable. Any other GC vet will tell ya that the X-Wing on Hoth was really crappy. Hardly anyone flew it. If an X-Wing is on a planet map... Will it react the same way as if it were in space in terms of manuverability and speed?

It was in all the Rebel Strike Games for the game cube. I was wondering if that would be applied in FS for planet maps. I'm not trying to turn this game into a sim cuz those are very complicated... I'm just trying to get some info on rather the arcade style flying of BF2 will still be intact in FS.
