sure using the bf2 editor matter, but you got no other choise.
this is on of the longerst updates i have seen so far and it is like said above: exactly what you would expect in a Dev Dairy.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I found that diary entry fascinating.
Then again, I'm also a C++ coder (not experienced enough for something like this though), and I've been investigating the mechanics of the Quake III engine lately.
Maybe I'm nuts (just in case you weren't aware), but the ideas behind the implementation of vehicles and most things in 3d games could hold my attention for years.

I do wish we could get rid of the automatic landing gear stuff though.

They dont mean landing gear like wheels or skids coming down, they are simply using the same type of code that landing gear use to go up and down for the wings of the B-wing, so that when you get up to speed the wings fold out into a cross shape. No real landing gear will be included on space maps.

And what about Snowspeeders? We can land those, right? So they must have actual landing gear...

Heh, not in GC they didn't tongue . Nor did any other fighter, as far as I remember, planetary or otherwise.

I think all the ships except for the Falcon (which has gear) have hover-gizmo-whatsits that keep it off the ground (that, and the invisible wheels)
