Well actually truth be told it was designed by the artist who worked on the comicbook, unless it appeared in any EU material prior.

Obviously my opinion is only an opinion, but asthetically to me it doesn't look all that Star Warsy. Yeah, I can see the elements of a Gallofree Transport in there, I just don't see this design as something you would have been likely to see in the original movies, the design doesn't carry on the same asthetic style as the ships seen there. But like I say it's only my opinion.
